Ingredients

  • 2 cups Red Split Lentils
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 6 Garlic Cloves chopped
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 6 cups Water or Broth

Instructions

  • Saute the onions and garlic in the olive oil.
  • Stir in the lentils and saute for a minute or two.
  • Add the salt, pepper and spices.
  • Pour in the water or broth and bring to a boil.
  • Lower the heat and keep at a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook until lentils re soft, about 20 minutes.
