Cut through all the noise with my recommendations below!
With an abundance of beaches, rainforests and mountains, Jamaica is a real life paradise.
Not only is it the perfect place to explore the outdoors, its rich cultural heritage will make this a vacation hard to forget.
Whether you’re a thrill seeker, a culture nut or an animal lover – there’s something for everyone.
Jamaica is incredibly beautiful and it can be especially tempting to want to stay at your resort.
But I encourage you to venture out and sample some of these Jamaica excursions.
Jamaica excursions are some of the best you’ll experience in terms of variety and being captivating.

Montego Bay (known as MoBay to locals) is an eclectic melting pot of cultures.
Here you’ll find Jamaica’s third largest city so there’s plenty to do in terms of excursions and activities.
From animated pubs to gleaming beaches, there’s something for every type of traveler.
I would recommend hiring a guide to experience this incredible place.
This one provided on Viator gives you a personalised tour, which I personally always prefer.
When I travel, I want to experience the places that would interest me.
This private tour adapts to your interests all from the comfort of an air-conditioned minivan with a knowledgeable local guide.
Duration: 6 hours | Price from $113 (Book on Viator)
Based in Ocho Rios, the Blue Hole is by far one of my favorite spots to visit in Jamaica.
As you can see above, the natural beauty of this spot is astounding.
I have a particular affinity to the Blue Hole because it’s nowhere near a commercialised at Dunn’s River Falls.
If you go first thing in the morning, you’ll be one of a few and by midday there are still only a handful of tourists.
On this excursion, you’ll have a dedicated guide who will escort you to the Blue Hole for some swimming in the bright blue waters.
If you’re feeling particularly brave, you can leap off the rocks high above the pool.
Following this, you’ll embark on a short hike to the Secret Falls through a luscious jungle.
This one is definitely worth the trip.

This one is always an exciting adventure!
Chukka are a popular tour operator in Jamaica and the high quality they bring to their tours are evident in the great time you have.
You’ll be given a durable tube to jump in and then you’ll be drifted down the river.
Don’t expect a lazy all the time.
There are some small rapids to enjoy down the way as well as incredible sights to see.
Duration: 3 hours | Price from $82 (Book on Viator)
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must know the infamous story about the bobsledding team from Jamaica.
Now, you can experience a (sort of) bobsledding experience in the form of a 1000m long gravity-drive through the rainforest.
This ride is family friendly and the individual cars have their own brake system so you can go as fast or as slow as you prefer.
Duration: 3 hours | Price from $70 (Book on Viator)
I overheard someone describing Kingston as “perfect chaos” and I couldn’t agree more.
Kingston is a bustling metropolis and is the cultural epicentre of Jamaica.
Here you’ll find hypnotizing music, fine art galleries, gluttonous dining options and incredible views in the mountains above the city.
Specifically, explore the heritage and history of Kingston on this Jamaica excursion.
Ideal for those who are on a time budget or are first time visitors to Jamaica, Kingston delivers a perfect little roundup of the island.
Stops on this tour include parks, markets, local communities and historic landmarks.
You’ll have the opportunity to indulge yourself in the city’s history, food and culture.

Jamaica is a scuba diving paradise.
I’ve personally never dived but I’ve spoken to friends who dive and they have said Montego Bay in particular is incredible.
Anywhere you dive in the tropics would be amazing I’m sure.
Friends of mine went on this PADI Discover Scuba Diving tour and had an awesome time.
Duration: 3.5 hours | Price from $56 (Book on Viator)
Being on a boat at sunset is one of the most picturesque trips you can take.
Especially somewhere as beautiful as Jamaica.
Not only is it a cruise at sunset, but it also includes a chance to snorkel as well as a stop at Rick’s Cafe – a famous hot spot.
Keep in mind that this particular excursion is more aimed as a party type cruise so families may not enjoy this one.
Duration: 7 hours | Price from $97 (Book on Viator)
A trip to Jamaica isn’t complete without learning more about one of their most famous exports – Bob Marley.
You can actually travel to his hometown and see the beautiful landscape where Bob Marley was inspired to write his music.
The village itself is very interesting and worth the trip.
You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about the Rastafarian religion, which is really insightful.
Duration: 2 hours | Price from $99 (Book on Viator)
This really is an awe-inspiring excursion!
The tour begins with a ride through backcountry trails winding through farmland and by a historic sugar plantation.
Then comes the really fun part – swimming with your horse!
Don’t worry – you stay on your horses back the entire time and the horses are specially trained to swim.
There’s really nothing like this and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Duration: 4-5 hours | Price from $58 (Book on Viator)
This lagoon is Mother Nature at its best.
At night the lagoon shimmers and this is down to microscopic organisms that emit a luminescent light when disturbed.
The result is an astounding blue shimmer lagoon to swim in and enjoy.
This mystical phenomenon is only one of four in the world and is said to be the largest and most brilliant.
I would recommend swimming in the lagoon for the full experience.
But if you’re not a fan of swimming at night then you can just as equally enjoy this masterpiece from the comfort of a boat.
