Melt in Your Mouth Chicken

melt in your mouth chicken

Sometimes you want something special to eat, like this melt in your mouth chicken recipe.

This recipe brings together flavors and textures that your mouth is sure to enjoy and thank you for.

Chicken has to be one of the most popular, and versatile foods meat eaters can enjoy.

This is a quick and easy dish to prepare that can give your weeknight dinner a lift in status.

It is also one of those meals that can easily impress when you have guests and want to show them something extra.

The thing with chicken is that it can far too often be made bland, and boring, with very little thought going into it.

And the best thing I find about this recipe is that it is a simple one pot meal that comes across as so much more.

What is Melt in Your Mouth Chicken?

It’s a boneless skinless chicken breast, baked in the oven with a delicious cheese and seasonings mixture on top.

It can be easy to make chicken breast taste bland or dry.

I like this recipe because it adds a really creamy flavor without huge amounts of calories.

And it also keeps the chicken breast moist, which is important for an enjoyable meal!

For best results try and buy your chicken from smaller farms where you are more likely to get tender chicken breast meat.

Chickens in larger operations are more likely to suffer from something called woody breast which makes the breast meat tough.

If you suspect that the breast meat you will be using is going to be tough, or if the breast is large, pound it flatter.

This technique will help the meat turn out more tender.

You can also make this dish with sliced or cubed chicken breast for something a little bit different.

Or if you have children who like their meat cut up already.

The sauce you make for this dish is really what sets it apart, it is rich, cheesy, and creamy, a combination you will love.

And your guests will love it too and ask for the recipe so they can make it for themselves and their guests!

How to Make Melt in Your Mouth Chicken

The quickness and simpleness of this dish makes this a great weeknight dinner to make.

Start by making the sauce for the chicken.

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, yogurt, half cup of parmesan cheese, salt, white pepper, and onion powder.

Mix well making sure there are no lumps in the sauce.

You can use a whisk here to easily get rid of them.

Place the chicken breasts in a casserole baking dish.

With just those few ingredients you are on your way to a melt in your mouth delight.

Pour the mayonnaise mixture on top of the chicken, making sure to completely cover the breasts.

If you prefer a healthier option you can replace the mayonnaise with yogurt.

And you can also substitute garlic powder for the onion powder if you prefer or try both.

Sour cream can be a good addition too for the experimental cook who likes to try new things.

Preheat the oven to 375 and bake chicken for 40-45 minutes until browned on top and the chicken is cooked.

I like to dice red pepper thinly, and saute it in a little bit of butter and use it as a garnish for the chicken.

If you want to have a crispier topping, you can always stick it under the broiler for a few minutes before serving.

I like to serve this with some white rice and either a salad or some ginger carrots.

But this chicken dish is so versatile, that you can put most things with it.

Tips for Making

  • I have found that chicken breasts that are on the smaller side lend themselves well to this dish.
  • Cover the dish for the first 25 minutes of cooking to help keep the heat in, which will help make the chicken tender.
  • Sprinkle a little bit of parmesan cheese, and grated cheddar cheese on top for an extra cheesy treat.
