I read an article from the Monocle in their Japan issue and it got me thinking of one of my favorite places.
The first half of my favorites list has a little bit of a theme…
If you’ve been to Japan, I hope you’ll enthuse with me over my choices.
Here’s what I’ve been liking this month…
Destination of the Month
I’m a big fan of Tokyo and used to visit 3-4 times a year.
And there’s no better time to visit then in May.
The rainy season starts in June so at this time, the weather is perfect.
You don’t tend to have all the tourists there at this time I’ve found.
And the food is great!
But it’s great anytime of year.
Hotel of the Month
A big event happening this year in the Middle East is the Dubai Expo 2020.
I used to visit Dubai multiple times a year for business.
And seeing what they’re capable of, I can only imagine what an impressive job they’re going to do at the Expo.
My favorite hotel to stay in was The Palace Downtown, right on the Dubai fountains in front of the Burj Khalifa.
It’s a fantastic hotel and if you’re staying in Dubai, there’s no better hotel to stay in.
And I feel confident saying that as I’ve stayed in what feels like the majority of the hotels in Dubai!
Restaurant of the Month
This restaurant is very small but based in a beautiful courtyard in Piccadilly.
Try and get a seat at the chefs table and enjoy watching the interesting ensemble of cooks preparing this delicate food.
Perfect for a date night, you won’t be disappointed.
Book of the Month
This book is a classic (as it says in its name).
If you like Indian food, this is the only book you need.
It’s full of everything you need to know about Indian cooking.
It’s been on my shelf for many years and I’ve just started getting back into cooking Indian food.
You can buy yours on Amazon for $21.99.
Kitchen Gadget of the Month
I got this little gadget back in January and it’s been incredible.
I’m very food safety and hygiene conscious when I’m cooking and this is perfect for that.
You can use it on anything, from your food to the oven and fridge.
It may not seem necessary, but you’ll constantly use it when you get it.
You can get yours here on Amazon for $18.99.
Travel Accessory of the Month
Packing cubes were never something I thought about needing, until I got them!
They’re just simply brilliant.
Especially if you like your suitcases super organized, these are perfect.
You can get yours here on Amazon for $19.99.
